Valerian, The Legendary

Chapter 294 - 294 Return.

The silver dragon opened her eyes, and looking at him, she said, “Chaos. Those like the Tyrant love their image the most. They will go to any lengths to save their faces, and this action was a direct slap to that face of his. What would you do if you were in his place?”

Valerian chuckled and said, “Isn’t it ironic? The tyrant gets bullied like this, and the people he has put fear into will get to see him like this.”

Fortuna said, “Gossip is not allowed in the eastern continent. Especially about the Emperor.”

Valerian shook his head and said, “Humans do not even spare the gods, let alone a mere emperor. He can control the mouths but not the thoughts. So people cannot help but channel their ideas to those around them. There are many other ways to communicate.”

Fortuna raised her brow with interest and asked, “What might that way be?”

Valerian smiled, weaved a few signs with his hands, and then took out a soul communication bead. Then, he said, “Too bad I have no means to gather the news from the eastern continent.”

Fortuna sighed and said, “I am glad you do not have such means because you are sly. Who knows how you will manipulate the eastern continent?”

Valerian chuckled and said, “I might turn out to be a good guy, you know?”

.....

Fortuna rolled her eyes and said, “Gale is here. Now you will know what happened.”

Valerian nodded and turned his head to the side. Gale landed on the summit gently and bowed to Fortuna. She said, “The task has been dealt with, Your Majesty.”

Fortuna nodded and said, “Thank you for your hard work.”

Valerian stood up and asked, “Your Grace, did you find your companion?”

Gale shook her head and said, “She passed away last year. I did not meet her.”

The young man was surprised and did not know what to say or how to console the blue dragon. Finally, he said, “May she unite with Primus.”

Fortuna repeated the sentence after him. Gale thanked them and said, “Master Valerian, things in the eastern continent have become quite interesting.”

Now, Gale had Valerian’s complete attention. She continued, “After the message was delivered, it was received by the general of the eastern continent. He had a history of loving Leana very loyally. Then a few minutes later, I heard a roar. The tyrant called out to your father and said he would kill you too.”

Valerian chuckled and said, “We will see who dies when the time comes. Your Grace, you must be tired from your journey. Please take ample rest. Elder Sophos also asked for you to visit him.”

Gale nodded, and after saying thank you, she left. Fortuna snorted lightly and said, “This old man will not let me leave the kingdom.”

She was grumpy because of it but could not say anything. After all, if a dragon ruler is not strong enough, it will shame the people. Valerian walked closer to her and gently patted her scaly head as he said, “There, it will be fine soon.”

Fortuna glared at him and said, “You dare treat me like a child.”

Then Valerian ran away with the Queen of dragons chasing after him all over the kingdom. She did not fly because Valerian said, “Dare you to come after me fairly.”

The island’s populace was surprised to see this, but they said nothing. Dragons were arrogant but understood that the Queen was still very young. Youth is for playing and getting stronger.

...

Two more days passed, and Gale came to Valerian, who was sleeping on the branch of an old tree. He had not dug a cave and preferred sleeping under the stars. The dragon carried him to the throne peak, and the young man bade farewell to everyone.

Fortuna was still grumpy, but Valerian asked her to find him when she was strong enough. He also said, “I am leaving because I am not yet strong enough to stay in this place. We all need to work hard to make a place of our own. So do you, Your Majesty.”

...

Gale took Valerian back to the western continent on her back. The young man was hesitant, but Gale said, “Think of me as your bodyguard. I can guard you better when you are closer to me.”

The two traversed through the skies swiftly. In a day, they reached the shores of the western continent. First, they had to cross the Valkyrian territory to reach the Lumen empire. Valerian said, “Your Grace, can you fly a little lower? I would like to see the situation on the ground.”

Gale replied, “Certainly, Master Valerian.”

The dragon flew close to the ground, and Valerian saw that not much had changed. Gale had lowered her speed, too, so the vision was clean. Then, finally, the young man said, “The forces should have started to help and aid the people, but why do I not see them around?”

At this moment, he was flying over the spot where he and the other three champions had fought against the dark hound had battled. Valerian spotted the camp of the allied forces not far away, and his eyes located the biggest tent. He said, “Your Grace, is it alright to land here? I have someone to greet. I apologize.”

Gale chuckled and said, “I do not mind resting too, Master Valerian. You do not have to be overly polite.”

...

The camp was bustling with activity, but it all suddenly stopped when a watch guard yelled, “It is a dragon. Alert her excellency quickly. A dragon has descended.”

Valerian shook his head and got down from the back of the dragon. He raised his head and said, “Calm down, everyone. We come here in peace.”
