Cornered by the CEO

Chapter 267: When Are You Coming Home?

Chapter 267: When Are You Coming Home?

This woman held up a piece of clothing in her hands and showed it to the camera. It was a top from two years ago. Their summer collection.

"This is a top I brought from Venus after saving for it. This is for everybody to see. I am throwing this into the fire because of their lack of morals."

And she really did throw them into the fire. And then she introduced a few more pieces, telling everything when and why she bought them and slowly putting them into the fire.

"I\'m going to let them all burn. When a corporation doesn\'t share the same vision as the people, they need to be denounced and boycotted."

Another post said that Venus had made them chose between the brand they loved and the ideals they lived by. They also asked when being polite and dignified had become offensive.

Some shredded their clothes. Others scraped off their cosmetics and got rid of them on video.

Qian Meng was fuming. "A lot of the posts must come from people who are doing this for fun and some follows and attention."

"And they are driving up the sales," Ma Qui commented.

"Allow them to do it tonight. We can afford to let people buy and burn out products," Qian Meng said through her teeth. "Xiong Fen, still no positive response from Shi Yuhan, right?"

"No. She cannot be convinced."

Qian Meng nodded.

"Understood. Tomorrow is a holiday. But we are going to have a conference with all the media present. The gloves have come off." She swore. "I need a plan from Human Resources on re-training the staff about etiquette. The Public Relations team will do a write-up and apology on how high-end brands often discriminate against paying customers and word it in a way that takes responsibility for those who have been treated this way."

Qian Meng could see that Ma Qui was going to protest. "You will be monitoring the effect of this controversy on the launch which is in 9 days." She paused. "I will be speaking to the media myself tomorrow. Make it around six in the evening so that the online media are the only ones who get to post about it that night. The print media will play off on Monday morning for maximum coverage."

She thought about it a bit more. "I want an intern from the PR team to inform me about all live reactions while I am speaking on the podium. I will be taking questions."

Xiong Fen propped up. "Do you expect Shi Yuhan to livestream again?"

Qian Meng nodded. "It\'s a Sunday evening and livestream views are the highest. People will want to know her reaction the most. If we can\'t bring her to talk out in the company, we can expect to see her reaction on the livestream."

"I thought I was a cruel beast. Boss, you are really teaching me a lot," Ma Qui snickered.

Qian Meng threw him a glare. "We have done our part to resolve this privately. Now, we can\'t stand by and watch and people ruin our products. The whole team worked for years to build the products to the quality they are today. Seeing our work go down the drain is one of the most painful things for a company and its employees."

"With only 9 days to go for The Shift to be launched, do you think we will turn the tides on time?"

Qian Meng was confident. "Of course, we will. Let\'s show those bastards at Sophie\'s Secret what we are really capable of," she grinned.

The people in the room cheered and the meeting came to a halt. There was a lot of work left to be done.

"Once we are done with the oncoming launches, everyone gets compulsory off days for working so hard and so long. Don\'t be modest and deny it. I\'ll talk to HR about this matter." She gave them one last smile before pushing herself off the chair and moving out of the room.

There was an excited buzz in the air.

Once in her office, she typed out quickly. [Did you send the picture?] she texted Mo Qingchen.

The response came in after a dozen minutes.

[What picture?]

Qian Meng wanted to roll her eyes at his pretense. "Still acting?"

[Shirtless rich boy and celebrity cuddling in bed. Definitely not a photo that anyone should have.] This was an accusation.

[If no one else has it, how will I?]

[Using your magic wand, of course. It doesn\'t help that you asked if I wanted you to hack into their device and post an apology a few hours ago!] Qian Meng stared at the phone and waited for him to respond. It took almost twenty minutes for him to come back.

[I do have a magic wand. But I haven\'t used it in a while now. When will you come home?]

This response made her smirk. She pulled out her binoculars from the drawer and pulled up to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall. She adjusted it and looked out.

Mo Qingchen was sitting in his room. He was leaning back into his chair and facing the road. Qian Meng zoomed in at his face. He definitely looked smug.

"Is this how you are going to play?"

[If you don\'t stop looking so smug, your magic wand will become dusty.]

Take that!

She looked back through the binoculars and saw the confusion on his face as he read the message. And then his head popped up and he looked towards her window. His eyes wandered for a bit before he gave her a blinding smile and a wave.

Her breath hitched as she watched him. The boyish smile on his face rarely appeared. It was so pure and lovely that Qian Meng wanted to fly over and pepper kisses all over his cheeks.

He looked down and typed. The moment he looked up her phone pinged.

[When are you coming home?]

She sighed. He was adamant about avoiding the question. This bothered her a little but not enough that she would drag him out for it.
